Each week we will have a playlist of music, tv
programmes, radio shows, books, gigs, DVDs etc that we at Candy
Productions are loving the best..
Any suggestions about what should be on the list? Email Cath
with any ideas.
This week, we're giving the best of Candy support to:
Gigs, instore appearances & events :
Gig for Burberry workers
Goldie Lookin Chain have been added to the bill for a charity gig
taking place later this month. They join Super Furry Animal Gruff

24th March.
Money raised from the event is to go to the
300 workers at Burberry's Treorchy Factory who are to lose their
jobs due to the factory's relocation to the east (of the globe,
that is). Tickets on sale now - £12.50..
Pet Shop Boys at National Portrait Gallery

NEW WEB RADIO STATION CHAMPIONS UK HIP HOP
A new internet radio station has been launched, offering a blend
Of urban and indie. Broadcasting from East London each Wednesday,

up of specialist shows, including one dedicated to the wonders of
UK hip hop. Full details are online here
Downloads, releases, books, websites & DVDs:

NEW ELLIOT SMITH DEMOS POSTED ONLINE
Four previously unheard Elliot Smith demos have been posted
online. The tracks, named 'Let's Turn The Record Over', 'True Love',
'Talking To Mary' and 'From A Poisoned Wall' are, it's said, just
some of around fifty such demos which have yet to surface.
The songs are online at www.elliottsmithbsides.com
ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS (DVD,
BMG)
Will
the money fountain that is Elvis Presley ever run dry? Probably
not, and this DVD, an account of EP by his family rather than those
who just cut his hair and brown-nosed him ain't half bad.
RARE ORANGE JUICE TRACKS
Nice site, set up by a fan, which has rare and difficult to find
Orange Juice tracks. Click here
to access.
Of
course Edwyn's been sick in the last year although feeling better,
we read; so a big get well soon goes out to him from all at Candy.
You can access his MySpace site by clicking on the photo (right).
